Aasne K Aarsand

Aasne K. Aarsand MD PhD is the Vice Director of the Norwegian Porphyria Centre (NAPOS) and a consultant at the Laboratory of Clinical Biochemistry, Haukeland University Hospital and the Norwegian Quality Improvement of Laboratory Examinations (NOKLUS), Haraldsplass Deaconess Hospital, Bergen, Norway. She received her Ph.D. in porphyria diagnostics from the University of Bergen in 2012. Her research interests include the porphyrias, biological variation and harmonisation of the total testing process. She is chair of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine Working Group on Biological Variation, a member of the Steering Committee of the European Porphyria Network (EPNET) and manager of the European Porphyria Registry.
