Jussi Paananen

Jussi Paananen, PhD, Assistant professor, University of Eastern Finland, Finland.

Dr. Paananen leads the Bioinformatics and Health Data Science research group at the University of Eastern Finland and manages the University of Eastern Finland Bioinformatics Center. He has a M.Sc. degree in computer science and Ph.D. in molecular medicine and was a visiting scholar/research affiliate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard from 2006 to 2011. He has extensive background in information technology and over 15 years of experience in bioinformatics, including ten years of experience working in the bioinformatics industry. His research is focused on analysis and management of data from large studies utilizing high-throughput technologies.
