Samuli Ripatti
Samuli Ripatti, PhD, is professor of Biometry at the Faculty of Medicine (UH), and FIMM-EMBL Research Group Leader. He is the director of the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in Complex Disease Genetics – from Discovery to Precision Medicine. His research group studies genetic variation in the Finnish population and its effects on common complex diseases. His research focuses in particular on cardiometabolic diseases as models to learn about disease mechanisms and strategies for diagnoses and prevention. He has published over 220 publications. He is chairing the Doctoral Programme in Population Health and is an Associate Editor in PLOS Genetics.
